This weekend saw the first of the Gauteng XCO Leagues kick off at the Voortrekker Monument in Tshwane. It was evident by the impressive field of riders that riders were desperate to return to competition. 

Rustenburg Cycling Club had three young riders participate in the event, two of which took podium finishes:

Caitlin Thompson competing in her first year as a Junior took a comprehensive by just over 6 minutes to win her age group.

Tamlyn Luyt competing in her first year as a Youth and in her first GP XCO league put on a solid performance to come 2nd in her age group. In addition to these podiums, the North West Province scooped a further 3 age group wins.
