The Ford Trailseeker MTB Series brings together riders of all abilities to experience some of South Africa’s most spectacular trails, from fast singletrack to sweeping farm roads.
Several RCC cyclists competed in the 40 km half marathon and 70 km full marathon at Van Gaalen Cheese farm. Racing began in near-freezing conditions, with the e-bikes starting at 07h30, followed by the full and half marathon fields. The day warmed up quickly as riders tackled the early climbs, and both routes proved demanding, as expected in the Magaliesberg. Congratulations to Luan Vermeulen and Gerhard Bekker for their strong finishes, and to Chris Petersen for placing 3rd in his e-bike category. Everyone enjoyed the experience, breathing in fresh air and taking in the cultural richness and scenic beauty of the routes, creating lasting memories. The day ended with well-earned refreshments in the finishers’ zone, where riders shared stories and reflected on the day’s events.
Well done to the other RCC members who completed the course in solid times and achieved their personal goals.
