The Buffelstrap Road Cycle Challenge was held at ATKV Buffelspoort Resort on 22 August 2026, attracting riders from across the region.

The morning air was already warm at the start and temperatures rose quickly as the race progressed. The Rhenosterfontein road 6km climb was as always challenging for all, with the OBS water point at the top of Rhenosterfontein a highlight.Rustenburg Cycling Club was represented in both the 94km and 49km routes.

Johan Roos and Dirk Stoltz completed the challenging 94km route in exceptional times, while Alta and Danie Lombaard, Adriaan and Susan Becker completed the 94km route in the E-bike category.

Michael Maritz finished the 49km route in an excellent time, and Adele and Beverly Benecke finished the 49km route comfortably.

The venue offered a memorable day for all, with well-stocked water points keeping cyclists hydrated and motivated.

Congratulations to Alta and Susan on their 1st and 2nd positions, respectively.
