The Tour de Pilanesburg was held this weekend (26-27 October 24) organized by Perry Dell of the Pilanesberg Wildlife Trust. All funds raised go towards rhino conservation and anti-poaching efforts. Two days of riding through the beautiful Pilanesberg crater – on tourist routes and through the wilderness areas. Fantastic sightings of elephant, rhino, buffalo, and most antelope species. Cyclists kept safe with the assistance of a helicopter and the anti-poaching teams. Friends of Pilanesberg and Makanyane volunteers kept the cyclist well hydrated and fed in extreme heat conditions of over 35 degrees. All cyclists completed the tour safely and will most probably be back again next year. RCC Members present by Jon and Tracey Andrews.
