On 19 October 2025 Sharron O’Reilly (RCC Member) and her daughter Megan O’Reilly participated in the Playa Laguna Ironman 70.3 Race all the way in Croatia.

The mother and daughter duo had an experience of a lifetime and building memories together.

The race consisted of 1.9km swim, 90km cycle and 21km run.

The Istrian peninsula is a favourite destination for sports and outdoor tourism lovers. Istria is located on the glistening Adriatic coast, and its interior is dotted with green hills and medieval towns. Poreč is a coastal town and a popular tourist destination. It imposes itself as a logical choice for an important sporting competition such as IRONMAN. The mild climate and the beautiful contrast between the traditional and the modern make it a treasure trove of sights and culture. Swimming, running and cycling around this Mediterranean pearl is an invaluable pleasure.
